RHA wants to know...where do you like to go?
September 14, 2009

One aspect of a fun residence experience at NJIT is knowing what you have available at NJIT. To do this, RHA is going to make a map of interesting points around NJIT and NYC, but we need your help. NJIT is a very diverse school which houses people with many interests. To create a solid map, we need input from you guys. If there's a place you had a great time at whether show, restaurant, bakery, club, etc email RHA@njit.edu with POI somewhere in the subject and stay tuned.

Cupless in NJIT
October 23, 2008

For those who eat at GDS may know, getting a cup is not a sure thing all the time. The extent of this shortage was not known until recently when RHA was told that out of the 1600 cups that GDS had this past August, it now has under 200 only a 6 weeks into the year. Because of this, RHA has began a campaign to advertise the extent of this issue and promote the returning of GDS cups, plates, utensils, etc. Fliers have been placed inside the napkin cases and a GDS item return box has been placed in every hall near the DA. If you have GDS stuff or know people that do, please encourage them to return them. If this degree of theft continues, it is likely that GDS will begin using anti-theft measures.

Food Committee at Work
October 23, 2008

This past week RHA Food Committee's Ken Schreihofer made a website to document food concerns. What does that mean? If you have ANY kind of issue, complaint, concern, request you go on the site and submit a ticket. Eboard members from RHA and Peter Fischbach will be able to see these tickets and act on them. You can also view the status of your tickets and if anyone has commented on it. No registration, just results.
The site is http://web.njit.edu/~rha/food/

RHA sponcers NY Anime Festival Trip
September 12, 2008

On Saturday September 27th, the NY Anime Festival is underway. This past week RHA passed a proposal to cover for transportation and half the ticket price for the first 20 people who sign up. This program, proposed by Kati Diraimondo, covers the cost of NJ Transit Tickets and half of the $35 ticket fee. The festival includes autographs of voice actors, anime fandom panels, top secret anime permieres, Akihbara culture, manga panels, and cosplayers. Remember, tickets cost $18.50 but only for the first 20 people who sign up. For more info or to sign up, email krd9@njit.edu by September 16th, 6:00 PM.
***UPDATE***
Over 20 people have signed up and there are no more discounted tickets nor will transportation be covered. You can however still purchase the tickets through RHA and go with the group. The tickets are full price ( $35) and you need to cover your own transportation fees. Email Kati if you still wish to purchase tickets.

RHA proposes a new way to dine.
September 03, 2008

In an effort to go green RHA proposes trayless dining. Trayless dining is a form of dining which minimizes tray usage or cuts trays completely out of the picture. Done in several other universities, such as Harvard, trayless dining helps the environment by cutting down on water usage and reduces food waste. Statistics show that on average for every 5 trays used,a gallon of water is used to wash them and a college Earth Week experiment in 2008 showed that there was a 40-50% reduction in food waste with trayless dining. But what do you think about it? Discuss it on the forum .
